Forging New Identities - The Transformation of Thaltej

Thaltej is situated towards the north-western portion of the city of Ahmedabad. It is one of the most sought-after residential locations in the city and is commonly known as the home of the rich. Through the course of its development, several spatial characteristics have emerged which in turn have resulted in unique results on how these spaces are used. This studio aims to understand the evolution of the area, its street network, predominant land use and built forms. It further looks into how these factors impacted the perception of the area and subsequently life in Thaltej.
