The amount of paddy cultivation is now reducing in Goa. Two major reasons are that paddy crop yield is reducing and the idea of commons is reducing as youngsters are moving out of the village for better incomes. The idea of crop rotation and the use of organic fertilizer have been introduced to increase the paddy crop yield. The paddy crop would be grown throughout the year, once in the monsoon, through rainwater and in summer through brackish water. Other crops would be grown in paddy fields near reservoirs. Organic fertilizer would be produced and used for the same.
